Welcome to Rune

As a peer-reviewed university literary journal, Rune promotes creative excellence, the joy of personal expression, and a sense of community by publishing and presenting original literary and graphic works of high quality from the Robert Morris University family and in the Pittsburgh region, and by sponsoring readings, websites, and other forms of media outreach.

Rune, the Robert Morris University literary magazine, is accepting submissions of photography, drawing, graphic design, poetry, and prose. Submit a maximum of three pieces; poems and prose should not exceed 750 words apiece.  Please submit photography in a separate email in .JPEG format. Submit poems and prose as .doc or .docx files.  Submit all files as attachments to an email in which you provide a brief author bio, contact information including mail address, and permission to publish in print and/or digital form.  Address:  rune.rmu.edu.  Deadline for submissions: March 18. If your piece or photograph is selected, you may be invited to present it at the Rune release party.

Want to be a member of Rune? The campus literary journal offers the experience of working with a personable staff on a timely basis. Meetings are once a week, with time length varying between a half hour to an hour and half on weekday afternoons. Graphic design and English majors are greatly appreciated for the literary journal composition, but any major can join. Rune is currently going online this year, so students with experience in web design are also appreciated. Contact Dr. John Lawson at lawsonj@rmu.edu to learn more.
